An introduction to a privately funded road safety awareness campaign

My name is Bill Pregnell, and I have spent my entire professional life driving private and public vehicles of all descriptions - large and small, fast and slow.

Like most people in the community, I’m appalled and shocked at the injury and loss of life resulting from road crashes on our roads and highways. In 2005, I drafted a road safety message which is changing the attitudes of drivers who have been involved in our campaign. The road safety message reads:

Time matters none
    when life on earth is done
        SLOW DOWN NOW!

And so the campaign was born - based on the key message of:  Slow Down Now!

This campaign has been funded by myself and private business. Sponsorship and involvement both contribute to extending the visibility of this critical message where it matters most - on our roads.

I’ve included a report of how the message is being delivered and received by the motoring public. I welcome your appraisal of the message, and any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you may have on how to further promote road safety awareness within our communities.
